The City of Zion Community Police Academy is a 10-week educational program designed to build trust and transparency between the police department and the members of the Zion community. Through a series of interactive sessions, participants gain insight into the daily operations of the police department, specialized units within the department and the tools and techniques utilized by the department. The sessions include a station tour, hands-on demonstrations and in-depth discussions on the various aspects and complexities of law enforcement. By providing a deeper understanding of police work, the goal of the program is to improve communication and create a safer, more united community. The Zion Police Department is accepting applications through August 13 for the 2024 Fall Session scheduled to run from September 17 – November 26.
